Chisos Mountain Skies, Big Bend National Park, Texas
The rim of the Chisos mountain from the Big Bend National Park Lodge. The skies of the Big Bend are full of stars most
people have never seen. Those who see these starry skies are filled with wonder.
Photographer: Gerry Burns
Based in Dallas, Texas, Gerry is a self-taught amateur photographer. Focusing mainly on landscapes and inanimate objects “because they are so much more patient with me than people as subjects”, he strives to capture the extraordinary within the ordinary.
He and his cameras have literally traveled around the world. In recent years, he has been introduced to the awe and
beauty of the Big Bend Region of Texas. He returns as often as he can. For future efforts, he would like to capture the living creatures of this area: horses, people, and other living things, tamed or not.
