Description
Chihuahuan Desert Ocotillo, Big Bend, Texas
While technically not a true cactus, the arrangement of large spiny dead sticks would lead the amateur observer to think otherwise. These are very common in the Big Bend Region of Texas and used locally for fencing material.
Photographer: Gerry Burns
Based in Dallas, Texas, Gerry is a self-taught amateur photographer. Focusing mainly on landscapes and inanimate objects “because they are so much more patient with me than people as subjects”, he strives to capture the extraordinary within the ordinary.
He and his cameras have literally traveled around the world. In recent years, he has been introduced to the awe and
beauty of the Big Bend Region of Texas. He returns as often as he can. For future efforts, he would like to capture the living creatures of this area: horses, people, and other living things, tamed or not.
